Buy itDrawing on the success of her first book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, Karen Kingston has met popular demand by expanding on the indispensable activity of clearing clutter. There is very little of actual Feng Shui here, and certainly nothing you can't get elsewhere, but the clutter problem gets full and complete treatment. Kingston reminds us that clutter is stuck energy that keeps you stuck in undesirable life patterns. Therefore, you can "sort out your life by sorting out your junk." Kingston covers the reasons we keep things as well as the amazing stories of people who have cleared their clutter away. More than just junk, clutter is all those things that have negative symbology and that collect stagnant energy. This latter can also apply to bodily, emotional, and spiritual clutter, all of which Kingston describes with characteristic passion. In an age of accumulation, it's good to see a book that frees up life again.

I loved this book! This book explains in an easy way how clutter effects energy flow in rooms. It helped me move forward in
letting go of clutter! A staple for any feng shui collector.

This book is a great motivational tool to use to get started in clearing clutter. I found this book to be a brief overview of many different reasons people keep things in storage or lying around in piles, etc. This book gave me a different outlook and got me clearing clutter quickly by starting one room at a time. The happiness I am experiencing from clearing out clutter is empowering. Some of my clutter I have moved twice in 10 years. Some of it belongs to a deceased parent that I still grieve after 8 years. I am now smiling when sorting instead of crying.

A very, very good friend of mine introduced me to this book about 3 years ago, and I loved every word of it. Though I might not necessarily agree with all of the "feng shui" principles that Karen Kingston suggests in this book, I agree wholeheartedly with all of the invaluably useful, general, need-to-know clutter clearing advice she gives that I believe could be applied to anyone with fantastic results. Not only does Kingston eloquently describe the need to eliminate physical, material clutter from our homes, but she also gives sterling advice on how to remove clutter from your mind, body, and spirit.
This book is the fifth copy I've bought! After having read the first copy I received at least 3 times through, I gave it away to a friend who told me they were looking for a clutter clearing book. I bought two more copies, and ended up giving those away just as quickly. I believe it's just a practical testament to how insanely useful this book can be in your life, or in the life of a friend. Heaven knows this isn't the last copy I'm going to purchase!

I have ordered it in Amazon and I have to say thank you to the other reviewers. It is indeed a very useful book, and it pushed me to do what I had in mind: unclutter my apartment!
The author is honest and direct. Really resourceful in motivating you. I suggested this book to all the members of my family. I hope this book can be as useful to them as it was to me.
I am still in the process, but the the hardest part is done. I'm so happy :-)
By the way, the part on body cleansing is very interesting - not for everyone - but it is good food for thought.

I read this book years ago, and it completely changed my life. I lived a clutter-filled life, and this book liberated me. Turned me from a pack rat into someone who enjoys clearing the clutter. I still quote it today, several years after reading it, which is why I chose to write a review. My mantra from this book - "If you don't use it, and you don't love it, throw it away." Those words completely changed my life and I will never look back.
